Is there a hack around whic will enable me to specify the maximum length in characters that a Subject/Topic can be.

Find (may have more than one instance, repeat if there is):

Near that, there should be a tag. Add a MAXLENGTH="XX" in it to make it (where XX equals the number of characters you want).

Here I was going to add a check on the length of the variable, and only allow it through if it was less then what I specified
